Today was a cancellation bloodbath of series led by The CW, CBS and NBC which saw 15 series cancelled (The CW’s Charmed, Dynasty, Legacies, Roswell, New Mexico, In The Dark, Naomi and 4400; CBS’s Magnum P.I., Good Sam, United States of Al, B Positive and How We Roll; NBC’s The Endgame, Kenan and Mr. Mayor) and only four renewed (The CW’s All American: Homecoming and NBC’s American Auto, Grand Crew and Young Rock). The CW announced three new series for next season including Gotham Knights, Walker: Independence and The Winchesters, along with three ordered at CBS including Fire Country, East New York and So Help Me Todd.
It’s easy to wonder what series are still left on the bubble. As of right now:
ABC
ABC has a handful of series still on the bubble. A Million Little Things, Big Sky, The Conners, Home Economics, and The Wonder Years are still awaiting word on their futures. On the unscripted side America’s Funniest Home Videos, American Idol, The Bachelor, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, Shark Tank, Supermarket Sweep, and When Nature Calls with Helen Mirren await word.
CBS
CBS has made the bulk of their scripted series decisions today. There’s still no word on the second season of Blood & Treasure which last aired in 2019 and has already filmed a second season with no premiere date set. On the unscripted side, 48 Hours, 60 Minutes, Beyond the Edge, Big Brother, Big Brother: Celebrity Edition, Come Dance With Me, The Greatest #AtHome Videos and Undercover Boss haven’t learned their fates.
NBC
NBC has made decisions on most of their bubble series today, including all their scripted series. On the unscripted side, America’s Got Talent: Extreme, American Song Contest, Dateline, Family Game Fight!, Making It, Saturday Night Live, The Voice, The Wall, and Weakest Link await word.
Fox
Fox has a few series awaiting word on their futures. Those include 9-1-1, 9-1-1: Lone Star, Call Me Kat, Our Kind of People, Pivoting, The Resident, and Welcome to Flatch. Animated series Duncanville , HouseBroken and Krapopolis (which hasn’t premiered yet) are awaiting word. Unscripted series Alter Ego, Domino Masters, I Can See Your Voice, Joe Millionaire, The Masked Singer, MasterChef Junior, Name That Tune, and The Real Dirty Dancing are awaiting word.
The CW
Most of The CW series have been given word on their status. The series still awaiting word include Tom Swift, Stargirl and Two Sentence Horror Story. Tom Swift premieres May 31. Season three of Stargirl will premiere later this year. On the unscripted side, Legends of the Hidden Temple is awaiting word.
Word on these series and more will come shortly as the networks firm up their plans for next season and present them at their Upfronts May 16 through May 19.
